Being pregnant is most often a woman’s best part of her life! The problems arise only if the mother is too young to understand and fulfill the requisites of being a mother.
Why do the teenage girls become pregnant? Well, the first reason is simply ignorance. The young girls do not often understand the facts about conceiving. They also do not understand how they can avoid conceiving. Those who do, but still become pregnant, is often by accident than by choice.
For some strange reason, the responsibility of avoiding pregnancy falls on the girl, which is not right. The boy is equally and may be even more responsible for making a teenage girl pregnant. But just finger pointing is not going to help here.
What should the teenage girls know?
The best option is to avoid having sex. The curiosity to explore sex during the teenage years is immense, but the smart ones do not let that curiosity overtake them. The smart teenage girls understand the benefits of not having sex until they are grownup.
A teenage girl should know that the boys have little to lose and would often ditch her and run away if she becomes pregnant. The boy simply has his fun of having sex and moves on and the girl is stuck with the responsibilities and the results of pregnancy on her and her baby’s life. This is not trivial. Therefore, smart and responsible teenage girls do not have sex since they know it is not worth taking the risk.
The teenage boys often boast to their friends about how many girls they have slept with. When a boy is making friends with a girl, the only thing on his mind is to somehow sleep with her as soon as possible. The girls on the other hand are looking for real love not realizing that the teenage is too small a age to make or understand commitments. Even if a boy commits to be friends for life, he would not. That is why, falling in love during the teenage is called infatuation. Would you as a teenage girl want to just become a number in a boy’s list of girls that he has had sex with? I do not think so!.
A teenage girl should also know that promiscuity carries risk of sexually transmitted diseases the impact of which can be devastating. Secondly, getting pregnant during an age that is not capable of supporting pregnancy, can ruin the chances of becoming a mother for the girl forever! Some boys would cite these facts as just something that is written in the books, just so that they can persuade the girl to have sex with him, but the teenage girl should understand the enormous risk behind is intentions.
These days more and more teenage girls understand what is sex all about. They are opting to keep away from sex until they are adults and marry someone. Once you are married, bringing a baby in this world becomes a responsibility that is shared and enjoyed by both the father and the mother. Premarital sex may simply result in leaving the young girl to become the single parent for the baby. Premarital sex can be fun, but the boy often would simply leave the girl alone as soon as he figures out that the girl is pregnant and moves on. The boys do not understand the tremendous injustice they do to the girl by making her pregnant during the teenage.
Should the girls give into the pressure?
Well, the teenage is also about showing off and exploring. In the race of showing off, almost all the boys and many of the girls, simply cross their lines of responsibilities and think having sex is the best thing in the life until they realize what that results into! But by then it is often too late. Therefore, to give in to the peer pressure or the endless requests from the boy to have sex, is only like inviting trouble.
The teenage boys often sleep with many partners. They therefore, become the main sources of sexually transmitted diseases. Some of these diseases and infections, like HIV and AIDS are fatal. It is not therefore worth taking the risk of making love when any of the partners is a teenager and when there are no commitments.
