Some complications that may develop later in the years, can be treated much more successfully if they can be diagnosed earlier in life. Even though irregular periods may not be the cause of the complications, they might be a red flag that should not be ignored.

It has been found that many girls even after reaching the age of 21 continue to have irregular periods. The hormonal imbalance, which is often the cause of the irregular menstrual cycles, can wreak havoc in more than one ways. Some girls who do not have regular periods may develop migraines and polycystic syndrome in their early adult hood.

Therefore, instead of taking the irregularity of periods in teenage girls as “normal”, it would be prudent to seek medical advice and restore the regularity of menstrual cycle as early as possible.

Should Teenagers Be Allowed to Drive?

The people who suffer the most are the ones who get hurt or who even lose their lives due to an inexperienced or over-zealous driver on the road.

The law enforcement officials find it difficult to enforce the discipline on the road especially when it comes to the young drivers.

The number people who prefer that the teenagers should be forced to have much more training before they really jump to driving a vehicle is really increasing. This does not mean that the teenagers cannot drive well. Unfortunately not all teenagers can drive safely. The fact is that the brain goes under a kind of rewiring during the teenage which on one hand makes the teenagers able to multitask but on the other hand it also makes them vulnerable to indecisiveness. Secondly, the new rush of adrenalin during the teenage days, instills a false sense of confidence and a zeal to out perform the peers. These factors combine to make the unskilled drivers highly dangerous on the road.

The consensus amongst all the people we talked to, was that the teenagers should be allowed to drive but they should be required to practice much more than what the law currently requires. The young people would drive the world forward tomorrow. They can definitely drive a car.

The quest of love has left many lost in the wilderness of relationships even though it is omnipresent. Relationships are made and broken every day in the name of love. Lovers, on one hand have sacrificed themselves for the happiness of their love. On the other hand, the people spy on others and seek revenge – all in the name of love.

When love is so complex and elusive, does it mean teenagers cannot really understand true love? In fact, true love can be experienced by anyone who is pure at heart. There is no age for love.

The ones who do not understand love, tend to associate it with physical attraction. As a matter of fact, physical attraction is a natural phenomena that we all living beings on this planet are programmed to experience. It is the physical attraction that results in procreation and makes this world move forward. However, procreation without the involvement of love, is often a characteristic of the animals. Humans are expected to procreate with love.

So what actually is love? Could it be defined in words? Is it only found in the books?

Here are some true definitions of true love.

Is Smoking Hookah Bad?

Hookah has been around for ages. In the middle east and South Asia, it has been used for centuries – and the ill effects of smoking hookah are well known.

A hookah consists of a bowl, a water pipe with a smoke chamber and a hose. The tobacco inside the bowl gets heated. When the smoker inhales through the pipe, the smoke passes through the water and to the mouthpiece. The bowl of the hookah is often made colorful with intricate designs to make it attractive to the young crowd. Most often, other flavors are added due to which the smokers tend to get deceived into smoking hookah.

The tobacco used in a hookah is much worse in quality than used in the cigarettes. Therefore, the smoke from a hookah contains a lot of carcinogens, or cancer causing chemicals, besides many other toxic compounds that are extremely harmful to the lungs. Secondly, the smokers inhale a large amount of smoke each time making it even more harmful. Second hand smokers are at even greater risk.

It has been observed that almost all hookah smokers develop lung and oral cancers. Heart diseases are also pretty common in all smokers. The teeth of the hookah smokers develop dark irremovable stains besides gum diseases.

Since a hookah is not a disposable device, it is reused or used in a group where after each use a smoker passes on the pipe to the next smoker in the group. Since the smokers often have oral infections, it is easy to pass over infections to other smokers.

The name “morning after” pill generally means if you have sex at night, and if there any chances of the intimacy to result in a pregnancy, the first thing you should do early morning is to take this pill. However, it does not mean that you need to wait till the morning. As a matter of fact, it is most effective if taken right after having an unprotected sex. The first pill needs to be followed by another one about 12 hours later.

The morning after pill may help prevent a pregnancy for up to 5 days. It is important to note that it can prevent a pregnancy but it does not terminate one that already exists. The pill prevents ovulation thereby prevents an egg from getting released. If the ovulation has already occurred, this pill is not effective in preventing a pregnancy.

The teens that we talked to were initially surprised at the concept of imposing a curfew on their freedom but most of them also reluctantly agreed that a curfew might help them stay safe. Most crimes are committed when gangs roam about at night and the teens who might be out just to have some fun, might become victims of the crimes committed by the gangs.

The curfew also imposes a fine on the parents who let their teen kids out alone till after midnight. The business are also required to not allow any kids on their premises after midnight.

Why do we need a law?

A law that can impose curfew on the kids, helps to move them back in the safety of their homes before they become victims of a crime. Without a law, even the police may not be able to force them to go home until something untoward happens.

Very often, when the teens are hanging out with the friends, the peer pressure may prevent them from being the first one to say – “I need to go home early”. A law is a great excuse for the kids who want to stay safe.

Many cities have reported at least a 20 percent decline on juvenile crimes after imposing curfew on the teenage kids.

Obviously, crimes are not committed against or by the teens only after midnight. However, more crimes are committed during night time than during the day time. The darkness and the lack of traffic are conducive to crimes and seeking help if stuck between one, is not easy as a kid might be left hurt and alone until he or she is discovered by someone in the morning.

The good news is most kids have started to understand that the curfew would eventually help them stay safe. The parents are able to sleep better knowing that the kids are at home.

Obviously, swear words normally carry a sense of hate or anger. People often swear when disappointed, hurt, angry or even when they are excited.

When the children grow up hearing their adult family members swearing, it is only natural that the children sooner or later start using the same words – often without realizing the true meanings of the words. When the children are in their teens, they often swear especially when amongst the friends. Gradually, the swear lexicon becomes a part of their normal way of talking.

People also of use swears with an intention to hurt someone else or as part of an altercation. Swearing allows people to vent out their frustration and anger or excitement.

As long as the people around you do not feed offended, swearing may really have no adverse impact. If you swear too much and make it a second habit, it would not be long before you really get someone offended and make you repent on your unintentional slips!

Candida feeds on sugar. Therefore, anything that can cause the sugar levels in the body to grow, can make it conducive for the Candida to flourish. Most parents do not object to their teens working part time for 2 to 3 hours on non-hazardous jobs. In most states, there are laws to prevent those under 18 from working for more than a few hours especially during the schools days.

There are several advantages of doing a job during the teenage days. Earning helps the kids to understand the value of money and saving. When they spend their hard earned money, they also begin to appreciate the parents’ point of view when the kids are not given the pocket money at times.

Being on a job during a spare time, also helps the kids from getting involved into street crimes. The satisfaction of doing something positive like earning money, helps to boost the confidence tremendously for the future.

The teens can also learn and get accustomed to the pressures of earning and discipline.

However, it has been observed that most kids who work during the school days, find it difficult to juggle between their job and taking care of the school work. The teenage is also the crucial time when the kids are almost the age of getting admissions to the college and choosing a career. Underperformance on the academic side can prove to be detrimental to the professional success later in life. Hence, the restriction that exists from both the parents’ and the government’s side.

Another disadvantage of working is kids is that their busy schedule keeps them away from socialising and dating. Socialising is an important aspect of a teen’s development and its benefits are much greater than that of earning the minimum wage for a couple of hours a day!
